Location & Parking

Where is Lyrebird Laundromat located and is there parking?

We’re located at Shop 4, 215 Princes Highway, Beaconsfield VIC 3807, right on the Beaconsfield–Officer border. There is plenty of open parking directly outside the shop, including dedicated disabled bays, so carrying baskets is always easy. Our center is safe, well-lit, and surrounded by food and retail stores — making it convenient to combine laundry with coffee, dining, or errands.

Hours & Access

What are your operating hours?

We’re open 7 days a week, 365 days a year from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. (last wash cycle recommended by 10:15 p.m.).

Can I access the laundromat after hours?

Yes — LyreCircle loyalty members enjoy secure 24/7 access with their membership card.

Payments & Pricing

How do I pay for the machines? Do I need coins?

Lyrebird is a cashless laundromat. All washers and dryers accept tap-and-go cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay via BubblePay. You can also use the BubblePay app to track cycles and receive SMS alerts. A small processing fee (about 1–2%) applies.

Detergent & Laundry Products

Do I need to bring my own detergent or softener?

No — all washers feature auto-dosing with premium, eco-friendly detergent and softener (included in the wash price). If you prefer your own products, you’re welcome to bring them.

Machines & Capacity

Can I wash doonas, blankets, or other large items?

Absolutely. We have large 18kg washers and jumbo 27kg washers, plus 20kg dryers, ideal for doonas, quilts, blankets, pillows, rugs, and more. Oversized laundry is one of our specialties.

How long do cycles take?

Wash cycles take around 22–30 minutes. Drying usually takes 25–40 minutes, depending on load size and fabric type.

Pet Laundry

Do you have machines for pet items?

Yes. We provide dedicated washers and dryers for pet bedding and blankets. These machines are completely separate from clothing machines to ensure hygiene. Please shake off excess fur before loading, and use pet-safe detergent (bring your own or purchase on site).

Facility & Comfort

Do you have Wi-Fi and seating?

Yes. We provide free Wi-Fi, comfortable seating, and folding tables. USB charging points are also available — so you can work, relax, or stream while you wait.

Is the laundromat clean and safe?

Cleanliness and safety are our priorities. Machines are cleaned and serviced daily, the shop is spotless, and we have 24/7 CCTV coverage for peace of mind.

Support & Policies

Is your laundromat staffed? What if I need help?

We are primarily self-service, but our team performs daily maintenance and is just a phone call away if you need assistance. Contact details are displayed inside and on our website.

What if a machine malfunctions?

Notify us via phone or our contact form. We’ll respond promptly, and refunds or credits are always arranged when needed.

What is your lost property or damage policy?

Customers are responsible for their own items. Found items are held for a short period — please contact us quickly if you’ve left something behind.

Services Offered

Do you offer wash-and-fold or dry cleaning?

Not at this stage. We focus on premium self-service laundry, but we are exploring future partnerships for dry cleaning or wash–fold services.

Do you cater to commercial or NDIS clients?

Yes. We welcome commercial customers (gyms, salons, Airbnbs, short-stays) and offer bulk pricing. Our facility is also NDIS-friendly, with wheelchair access and simple cashless payment.

Sustainability

Is Lyrebird Laundromat eco-friendly?

Yes. Our Speed Queen machines use up to 30% less water and energy than traditional machines. Dryers have smart sensors that stop when clothes are dry, saving energy. We stock eco-friendly detergents, and we’re working towards solar energy to further reduce our footprint.
